Over the past 40 years YWAM The King’s Lodge has been used by God to equip and train people from across the nations, mobilising them into mission and into the calling that God has for them.
Thousands of people have walked through our doors, lived under our roof, and encountered God in powerful and life-changing ways. The building itself has a rich history, and has been used to influence the lives of countless young people since its founding in 1886.
God has entrusted us with this beautiful old building, which is now in need of some restoring, renovating and improving. We know that the Lord has called us to keep training, mobilising the people who walk through our doors, and also to continue to bless and encourage the local community.

What is Vision24?
Vision24 is a fundraising project that aims to maintain and develop YWAM The King’s Lodge to be a safe, warm and welcoming place for all who step through its doors and to continue the ministry work of training people for mission and into the calling that God has for them. In order to continue in our calling we need to ensure that the property is future proofed and fit for purpose to enable the ministry to grow and thrive for many years to come.
Over the last 3 years of research and planning by our team we have identified the main areas that require attention, with detailed breakdowns of funding needs for needs in each area of the ministry. A few of the items listed are more urgent and required by UK standards agencies in the near future, so we wish to ensure we are up to date with the maintenance of our beloved buildings that we use so much.
Ministry Development
The King’s Lodge’s mission is clear: to disciple, equip, & release people and to reach those around us with the love of Jesus. In order to do this more effectively, there are some key areas - such as our kitchen - that need upgrading and remaking into beautiful and functional areas that can better serve us as we serve the Lord.
Health, Safety & Security
The health, safety and security of our staff, trainees and guests is of utmost importance to us. With this in mind, some of our projects include repointing our brickwork, continuing compliance with fire safety standards, and installing a new front entrance gate.
Energy Saving Initiatives
By improving certain areas of The King’s Lodge, such as repairing key areas of our roof, upgrading our lighting system to LED, and replacing windows, we hope to cut back on energy waste and be more efficient in how we steward our resources.
We are standing in faith through prayer that through Vision24 we wish to see the ministry needs of YWAM The King’s Lodge achieved in 2024.
We believe that God is our provider and ultimately, he is The King of The King’s Lodge, and our Lord and Saviour. At the very least we have discovered what the needs are here at the base but also areas that we as a community dream to see happen here. Our part to play is to put forward this request to you as ministry partners to see The King’s Lodge go into its 40th year with a spring in its step into a brighter future.

February - Winter Walk
Why would 50 people walk a 2.5 mile loop over and over and over again? While all wearing the same beanie? Why, to raise money of course! In February, The King's Lodge and friends in the local community took on the challenge of trying to walk hundreds of miles together to raise money for Vision24 - specifically with a focus on our kitchen renovation project. Our goal is to buy a new cooking system so that we can increase our capacity and thereby our reach and influence. We all had lots of fun on the "Winter Walk" and were so encouraged by the many people who supported us.
